Laziz Kudratov identified five promising areas of cooperation with Azerbaijan
Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz News Agency. The Uzbek-Azerbaijani business forum with 67 companies from Azerbaijan has started in Tashkent, Podrobno.uz correspondent reports.At the opening ceremony of the business forum, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, welcoming the guests, noted that over the past five years, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan has increased threefold.
The Minister identified five priority areas of cooperation between our countries. This is an increase in trade, the opening of trading houses and showrooms. In particular, there is an agreement to open trading houses of Uzbekistan in Baku and Shusha. This is also an increase in industrial cooperation and mutual investment. Kudratov especially noted cooperation in the mining industry and construction.
In addition, the Minister identified metallurgy, copper production, the oil and gas industry and the development of green energy, including jointly in Ustyurt, and in the future, the export of electricity through the territory of Azerbaijan as promising areas.
Separately, the minister noted cooperation in agriculture and the need to develop the supply of vegetables and fruits.
The government, Kudratov assured, will support all forms of partnership and is ready to develop roadmaps for each of the areas.
In his response, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov noted the positive results of the third international investment forum held in Tashkent in May and emphasized that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is also developing at the level of cities and regions. 67 companies came from Azerbaijan to the forum, the minister recalled.
"If earlier we cooperated only with UzAvtosanoat, now we cooperate in the field of petrochemicals and textile products," the minister noted and thanked Uzbekistan for organizing textile production in one of the cities of Azerbaijan.
"Don't be afraid to dream of big projects," Mikail Jabbarov urged businessmen, participants of the forum.
The minister also noted that he visited Samarkand, was fascinated by it and invites all Azerbaijanis to discover Uzbekistan.
Let us recall that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will visit Uzbekistan on August 22-23.
