Kazakhstan intends to exceed the plan for oil transit from Russia to Uzbekistan
It is expected that transit will reach 550 thousand tons, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the national operator of Kazakhstan on the main oil pipeline, Kaztransoil.According to the head of Kaztransoil, this year the previously planned transit volumes are expected to exceed:
“In 2024, the volume of transit of Russian oil through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan will increase from the planned 500 thousand tons to 550 thousand tons,” he said.
It also became known that the existing supply schedule, approved by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, involves the supply of 25 thousand tons of Russian oil to Uzbekistan.
Let us recall that Russian oil began to be transported to Uzbekistan through the main oil pipeline system of the above-mentioned company back in 2017. The volume of transit in 2017 amounted to 67.9 thousand tons, in 2018 - 35.8 thousand tons. In 2019-2022, there was no transit of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan. In 2023, the Kaztransoil company transported 154.3 thousand tons of Russian oil to Uzbekistan.
