By the end of this year, Russian gas supplies can be arranged

The corresponding statement was made by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan in an interview with Interfax:

"As part of the signed agreement on strategic cooperation between Gazprom PJSC and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an increase in the annual volume of Russian gas transportation to Uzbekistan from 1.28 billion cubic meters in 2023 to 3.8 billion cubic meters in 2024 has been determined."

Last year, Kazakhstan delivered 1.281 billion cubic meters of Russian gas to Uzbekistan. In the first two months of this year — 1.114 billion cubic meters.

Recall that the contract for the transit of Russian gas through Kazakhstan was signed in June last year. Gas is delivered in reverse mode via a special route based on the Central Asia — Center main gas pipeline system.

Starting in 2026, an even greater increase in Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan is expected — up to 11 billion cubic meters per year.
