Preparations of the oil and gas industry for the autumn-winter season were reviewed
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a report on the progress of preparations in the oil and gas industry for the upcoming autumn-winter season.Comprehensive measures developed to ensure the stable supply of energy resources to the population, social facilities and sectors of the economy during the 2026-2027 autumn-winter period were reviewed. Specific tasks were defined for the supply of natural and liquefied gas, the repair of main and regional gas networks, the formation of fuel reserves, and ensuring the readiness of emergency repair teams.
Special attention was paid to preparing the gas supply system for the season. In particular, before the start of the season, it is planned to replace 53.7 kilometers of defective sections of main gas pipelines, as well as carry out major repairs of 77 gas compressor units at compressor stations.
In addition, in order to improve gas supply to 220,000 households in 881 mahallas and reduce technological losses, the distribution scheme will be switched from a three-stage system to a two-stage system. A total of 711.9 kilometers of gas networks and 400 gas distribution points will be overhauled and reconstructed.
The issue of supplying the population and social facilities with liquefied gas was also considered. During the autumn-winter period, it is planned to supply 325,700 tons of liquefied gas, including 8,200 tons to 104,700 consumers living in 229 hard-to-reach settlements.
Measures are also being taken to form fuel reserves for the autumn-winter period. In particular, a reserve of 120,000 tons of motor gasoline is planned for December-January. During the heating season, thermal power plants are forecast to receive 4 million 161 thousand tons of coal.
In order to ensure technological stability, repair work will be carried out at 90 technological units at enterprises within the «Uzbekneftegaz» system. This will ensure the uninterrupted operation of production capacities and the stable supply of energy resources to the population and sectors of the economy.
It was noted that preparatory work should not be limited only to the oil and gas industry. It is necessary to carry it out comprehensively together with the energy and utilities sectors. For this purpose, instructions were given to organize the activities of the republican and territorial commissions, coordinate preparations for the autumn-winter season, and establish constant control over their progress.
Responsible officials were instructed to ensure strict control over the implementation of the planned measures, timely and high-quality completion of preparations for the autumn-winter season, and stable supply of natural and liquefied gas, as well as other types of fuel, to the population and social facilities.
