Kazakhstan announced its readiness to increase the transportation of Russian gas to Uzbekistan
The Kazakh authorities are ready to ensure an increase in the volume of transportation of Russian gas to Uzbekistan. The Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, Erlan Akkenzhenov, told reporters about this.
“We have such an opportunity, it all depends on the transport infrastructure. On the Kazakh side, everything is ready for this. Now, as far as I know, the Russian side is conducting independent negotiations with Uzbekistan. We, as a transit country, are ready to provide [transportation],” Akkenzhenov said, answering a TASS question about whether Kazakhstan is ready to increase the transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan. According to him, in general, in the future “there is talk of increasing it to 11 billion cubic meters.”
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak in an interview with Vesti on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forumreportedthat Russia continues negotiations with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on expanding infrastructure and additional gas supplies.
